Linda and Graham came to stay for a few days at the end of May Bank Holiday and on one of the days we went to Whitby. The weather wasn't very kind to us as it was very windy and quite cold but we did have a really great day out. Graham had never been there before so we fitted in as much of Whitby  as we could to show him around

Vic on the beach

A bus that does trips around the places of interest

A wire sculpture of a fisherman

Climbing the 199 steps up to the abbey and hanging on so we didn't get blown away

Old gravestones at the top of the steps in the church yard

Very windy here but it felt good to let it just blow me away

More gravestones at the back of the church

Resting

Graham looking sad cause he hadn't brought his new camera

Inside the historic church-well worth a visit

There were allsorts of historic events going on in the abbey grounds but it was too windy for most of them

Archery practice

We took the hard route down--the road is very steep and quite slippery in parts--we love excitement!

Goth Morris dancers

More Morris Dancers

--and there's more

Not sure if that was the drummers stomach or padding

Never too young to start

Never too old to do it either and these ladies were so fit

Bells on their toes.

Hope you enjoyed Whitby and will be able to visit there one day.
