Spurn Head and Spurn Point

Linda took us to this wonderful place in the car. There is a bus there on Sundays but we would have to stay somewhere overnight along the way to get there and back by bus. When you arrive at the last 3 miles of the head you pay £3 to take the car along a single track road with passing places, to the car park.  You can park before this road and leave your car and walk instead which doesn't cost anything--also the bus goes all the way along the road on Sundays. There was a caravan near to the car park that said cafe but I think that must only be open at the weekend--there aren't any toilets in the week either so be warned if you go there lol not sure if there are any in at the cafe but I couldn't see any.. Lots of dunes and bushes though??

The North side of the head is completely different from the south side even though a very narrow stretch of land separates them. White sand on the north side-Bridlington Bay-pebbles on the south side--mouth of the Humber.

There are several houses at the point as it is a manned lifeboat station and is very busy because of all the ships from Hull.

We just loved it here and the weather was amazing.

Hope you can read this. There are many small pictures, new and old, made into a collage of the 'life' on Spurn Point

I had just been for a paddle as I was well in front of Linda and Vic

well what lovely hairstyles girls--it was breezy as we passed the point and headed south

This is the little information centre with allsorts of leaflets etc. It is at the beginning of the 3 mile road so be sure to stop as you go in or come out and have a look around in there.

Hope you enjoyed the trip with us.
