Chrissie's Flowers
I
have been making lots of flowers recently and it is a
great way to relax and to use up papers that you may not
have a use for.

Some cards I made using some of the flowers
Step One
Collect allsorts of different flower shapes and sizes.
These can be punched, machine cut out, printed and cut
out or cut from card magazines which often have pages of
flowers as their gift in the centre pages. I have made
some flower shapes which you can use if you like and
will add them at the end of the tutorial. You can print
them onto plain or patterned paper and colour them
yourself as you wish or use the colours that I have
used. If you want white flowers then use the white side
of the paper.

A
mixed bunch of flower shapes and lots of different
colours and sizes.
Step 2. Give all the
shapes some texture.
a. If you have a crimper
you can run them through that as it does give a good
texture and you can do that while you watch tv or just
sit outside in the sunshine.
b. Use a Cuttlebug Folder
that has quite a bit of pattern to give the shapes
texture

c. If you don't have either
of those then just scrunch up the shapes in your hand
then straighten them out again

Step
3
Now sort out the shapes into flowers. Do a bit of mix
and match with colours and shapes-don't stick them
together yet as you may want to change your mind along
the way

Step
4.
When you are happy with them then stick all the layers
and make flowers. I use silicone to stick mine but you
can use whatever glue you like best
Step
5
If
you have an old mouse mat or flat piece of sponge then
you can use that. If not use a tea towel folded or any
other piece of thick material. You will also need a tool
with a rounded end. I use a thin paintbrush handle but a
small embossing tool would be ok. Poke this into the
middle of the flowers to give them a raised shape

Leave them now until the glue is fully dried

Step
6
May be you are happy with your flowers as they are so
you don't want a step 6. If you want to try some other
things with them here are a few that I use
a-add a brad to the middle

b-add glitter glue to the
middle

c. draw a middle with a
felt tip pen

d. Stick an artificial
flower in the middle

Step
7
If
you would still like to add something special then you
can add this effect to any of the flowers you have
already made and it can look stunning
Use spray glue finely all over the flowers you want to
do this step on. Then dip them lightly, face down into
fairy dust or any very fine glitter.
Warning-if you use spray glue it is best to do it
outside or to wear a mask if you have breathing
difficulties. You could just dab stick glue to the
flowers instead if you aren't sure about the spray glue.

These are the same ones as I added the felt tip centre
to and they look very different with the fairy dust on
them-difficult to show how lovely they look in a
photograph
I
am sure you have lots of ideas of your own and I would
love to see what they are and add them to the tutorial
with your permission.
Flower shapes for you use as you wish

Print on white side of patterned of pattern paper if you
want the shapes to be patterned
