Thornwick Bay to Bempton Village
This walk isn't for the faint hearted as it is a walk
along the edge of very high cliffs and the day we went
it was misty and the paths were slippery because of the
recent rain. Along the way it passes the RSPB centre and
an old RAF station. Just after the RAF station we took
the very old lane to Buckton which was now just a track
and very boggy.

This is where we joined the path when we walked down
from the bus stop on the caravan park at Thornwick Bay.

In
the distance is where we started the walk it goes in and
out all the way along the cliff edge

The gannets collect the soil to build their nests and
there are thousands of the earth blobs on the side of
the cliffs. The noise in Spring is horrendous as they
all sit there with their young on the nests.

Lots of puffins on the cliffs in Spring and summer so
they have placed this carving of a puffin here

More of the earth blobs.

A
friendly little bird joined us for lunch

The cliffs are very steep here but the vantage point is
fenced as it is where the RSPB reserve has a nature
walk--you can see that the path is covered with
chippings if you look to the top of the picture. More
earth blobs on the cliff as well

This is so steep but the camera couldn't capture just
how steep

The Climmers used to scale all of the cliff's to collect
eggs and out local paper said that some still do but we
have never seen any I think it is illegal these days

A
sign for Buckton

The duck pond at Buckton Village

The lane we walked up to arrive at Buckton fron the
cliff top--what a strange name!

Arriving at Bempton to catch the bus back to
Bridlington.
Hope you enjoy the walk with us and didn't fall over the
edge !
