It wasn't very good weather but it was better than it had been for most of January so we decided to go on the train to Scarborough and have a good walk. After getting off the train we walked to the cemetery which looks very different from when we went when the trees were full of brightly coloured leaves. Next down through Peasholm Park which also had it's winter coat on with hardly any of the colours it had the last time we went there. Lots of ducks and geese looking for mates though and they certainly know how to show off to get attention. The squirrels were also slower than when we went last time and posed for pictures. Then we walked all along the seafront and up the steep hill into town to find a nice place for lunch and after that a bit of shopping so a very full day out and most enjoyable.

Hope you will enjoy it with us by looking at the pictures. We both had our cameras and took loads so these are just a small selection.

Opposite the station--a very nice theatre complex

Striding Out

An interesting gate-a modern one in an old wall and me stuck in it

This is a very interesting notice and tells the history of Peasholm Park. Underneath the park is a mansion dating back to Richard 111. I am going to look up more about it all as it will be great to know a full history.

Along the seafront

Part of the castle-it is interesting to go around the castle site and you can get a taped commentary so that everything is explained as you walk around. The views from there are really great.

Large areas of the rocky cliffs have fallen down this year because of the very cold weather I imagine. The wall in front of them onto the promenade must be very strong to held them back
