Part Of The Cleveland Way

We went on the early train to Scarborough so that we could explore part of the

Cleveland Way at the north end of Scarborough.

The weather looked promising when we set out but it was cold and dull when we got off the train

On our way

beach hut heaven-they are everywhere along this stretch of the sea front

the sea life centre

looking back at the remains of the old overhead railway

Vic's turn to have his picture taken

the pub at the start of the walk

Nice stone sign heralding this part of the Cleveland Way

two sets of steep steps to start off with

beautiful gorse out at the moment--it smells just like coconuts

looking back

looking forward to where we are going

looking back again--the hill you can see in the distance is Oliver's Mount where they have the motorbike racing

drink and biscuit time

this plane past overhead while we having our break--the chap waved to us

off he goes

small bees with the brightest orange I have ever seen--not seen these sort of bees anywhere else

anyone of the bees--I was on bee watch

back down to the prom again-this is a new crazy golf based on Pirates of the Caribbean--we are definitely going

to have a go next time we are there

The little train was busy going from Peasholme Park to Scalby Mills

This is stadium that we saw from the top with Max and Pete--it is all open at the moment to walk through but they

have already sold 6000 tickets for Elton John coming soon--heaven knows where 6000 people will fit in.

That's it folks. The camera went in the bag after this and we enjoyed a short open topped bus ride then a walk up

 the hills back into town

Hope you enjoyed the walk with us--the pedometer said we did 11 miles today.
