We went on a coach trip to the Well Dressing at Buxton. We only saw 3 of the wells as the town was so crowded. As we walked through the park Vic spotted a sign for Poole's Cavern and we went on an adventure to find it. We had to ask several people which way it was as it was a lot further than we imagined. The sign had said a mile but it was more than that and uphill most of the way. It was well worth the trip to the cavern and we had a guided tour underground. The temperature under in the cavern is a constant 7 degrees which felt quite nice in the heat of the day. It is damp and quite dangerous in parts so suitable footwear is a must if you ever want to go to go.
First well was in the market place-all the well pictures are made from parts of flowers or seeds and are very pretty and also very clever.
Made by the school children
Our Guide-he turned off all the lights all over the cavern to show us what real darkness is like but I could still see the images of the cavern in my head which seemed strange
This is called the sculpture and is very large and still growing with the water drips from above.
